Hi! I am Carla!
I have been practicing and studying different styles of yoga and meditation in Brazil, Switzerland and US since 1988. Yoga and Fitness have been my passion since then so in 1994 I became a certified fitness professional with the American Council on Exercise. In the late 90’s with the growing interest on yoga, the gyms started to offer yoga classes and in 1999 I started to teach yoga based stretches. I graduated from the Yoga Institute yoga teacher training program in 2000 and have continue to learn and practice yoga with different teachers and different styles of yoga.
In 2001 I open Yoga Lotus Inc. in Houston, Texas where I was living at that time. Over the years I have led several Yoga Alliance approved Yoga Teacher Trainings at Yoga Lotus as well as other studios ever since. I presented workshops at the Texas Yoga Retreat in Austin and the Yoga Conference in Houston and have led my own Yoga Retreats.
My interest in yoga goes beyond the wonderful physical benefits of the postures. I have been studying ancient yoga books like the Yoga Sutras, Bhavagad Gita, Upanishdas, and Hatha Yoga Pradipika. I hold an 800hr certification on the history, philosophy, and literature of Yoga, online course led by the Indologist and author Georg Feuerstein.
I am registered with the Yoga Alliance E-RYT-500, YACEP and I am also current with my fitness professional certifications. I teach several styles of Yoga including Vinyasa Yoga, Chair Yoga, Kid’s Yoga.
For decades one of my favorites hobbies has been painting oils and acrylics. So I decided to become an mindful art and meditation coach. It is my intention to help people of all ages experience greater calmness, balance, peace and joy in life through the process of mindful art making.
